Brandon Lindholm

Entry Team Leader

Brandon began his high angle training back in middle school. His father, a Building General Contractor, built most of the Elliot Pope Preparatory School. A private school located in Idyllwild CA.

Brandon enrolled in a class for Physical Education (PE) called "Wilderness." His parents thought this course would teach him how to live off the land, in the wilderness. Since he was the youngest member (started participating at the age of 12 with long time veteran Marry Bowman) of the Riverside Mountain Rescue Unit (RMRU) they thought this would be a great course. Little did they know the PE course called Wilderness was quite deceptive. His courses were over 1 hour long each day where he received training for the vertical realm. Everything from practicing knots to foot technique was taught by some of the best rock climbers around.

Idyllwild offers some of the greatest Rock Climbing; Tahquiz (Lily Rock) has over a 1000 foot vertical face and more than 200 climbing routes rated up to 5.14. Suicide Rock is another great climbing experience where Brandon and his childhood friends were able to practice the skills taught in the class. At about the age of 13, Brandon and his friend free climbed the routed called "Peer Pressure" without ropes. If you ask them why they climbed it without ropes, well their reply would be that they could not afford the gear. But the more realistic answer would be that the name of the route made them do it!

In his mid 20's Brandon attended a class for computer training. His course led him through a progressive study of computers and networks. Most college courses are technically out dated by the time the student finishes the curriculum. However Brandon was able to attend an accelerated course where he received the following degrees.

  • A+ Hardware
  • Novel Certified System Administrator
  • Microsoft Certified Provider + Internet
  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer

In his early 30's Brandon answered a call in the local news paper for volunteer fire men. Brandon passed all the required admittance steps to becoming a Fireman and was accepted onto the team. The local Fire Department provided great training, building a wonderful foundation for emergency services such as Confined Space and Hazardous Material Rescue Operations which are necessary for the Oil Fields, Co-gens, Manufacturing Plants, etc. that we provide services too. His training brought him the following certifications.

Brandon and Amy Lindholm
  • Emergency Medical Training
  • National Registered (EMT)
  • Trench Awareness
  • Fire Control 6 Wildland
    Fire Fighting Essentials
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness
  • Confined Space Rescue Awareness
  • Confined Space Rescue Operations

In an interview with Brandon, we asked him what he liked most about working with Action Response Team. His reply was "The Team!" Each crew member provides something beneficial for everyone else. They all have some insight knowledge and skill that creates a safe and comfortable working environment. I do not care who is holding the other end of my safety line when I hanging hundreds off feet off the ground inside a confined space. I guess you could say its great working with a bunch of guys who listen to and respect each other, both on and off the job. We are all good friends!"
